The newest release of ETAP includes a comprehensive renewable energy
model for wind turbine generators (such as doubly-fed
induction machines), full scale power converters and photovoltaic array
with manufacturer specific libraries of P-V and I-V curves.
ETAP 11 enables designers and engineers to conceptualize wind and solar
collection (harvesting systems), determine renewable energy penetration
levels, and perform grid interconnection studies. Renewable energy
sources introduce more complexities into the electrical energy delivery
system. Traditional analytical methods use static information when
considering conventional energy sources.

ETAP 11 also offers a graphical user-defined dynamic modeling
(UDM) module that is completely script free for fast and reliable
simulations taking the guess work out of control systems. This
user-defined logic editor interface provides an interactive graphical
environment to build, simulate and test a variety of control block
diagrams for practically any type of device including energy storage
devices, fuel cells, as well as, conceptual and prototype devices of the
future.
