Some heeded to this warning and some didn’t. Consequently, those that upgraded to this latest firmware are still waiting for an untethered jailbreak for their devices.
Sadly, there won’t be an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 for all iDevices. According to tweets by one of the notable hackers @pod2j, ”
we (Evad3rs) are not working on a iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak that would be too much effort for a minimal update. We’re waiting for a major release.
Although, its not all bad news as some devices can be tethered jailbroken like iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4G on iOS 6.1.3 with the help of Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 and snowbreeze 2.9.14.
Furthermore, even if you downgraded from iOS 6.1.3 to 6.1.2, you will be able to convert tethered to untethered.
Therefore, if you want an untethered jailbreak on your device, you should stay away from updating to iOS 6.1.3.
According to these hackers, work is more focused on jailbreaking in order to release iOS 7. This can be seen in one of the tweets of Joshua Hill below
- There is no untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3 only on old bootrom 3GS.
- Tethered jailbreak only support iPhone 3GS (new bootrom), iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G.
